Technology & Services (T&S) Finance in Danske Bank is looking for a technically minded data scientist to join the Data & Process Architecture team.

Our tasks include the TBM (Technology Business Management) solution, which aims to position executives and relevant stakeholders with the knowledge to coordinate and communicate the cost, quality, and value of IT and other associated services.

Furthermore, we provide finance and business stakeholders with regular financial reporting showing spending, budget and forecast. T&S Finance builds on a strong foundation of business partnering, where our solutions are a valuable part of their ‘toolbox’.

Finally, we also handle calculations of internal recharges (costs internally between back-office IT, development and Service functions) towards customer-facing departments in the bank. This provides business stakeholders with insightful overviews of the costs of servicing and handling their products.

The role consists of the development part, which should take up the majority of the time. Development tasks cover creating or enhancing solutions for stakeholders, both in Finance, T&S and the Business Units. We work with an agile approach, planning 14 days at a time for tasks, with a long-term plan of initiatives as guidance. This ensures good sparring among team members and an overall alignment of expectations. The team also maintains and updates reports, which we seek to automate to the extent possible.

Depending on your skills, knowledge and experience, you may be offered different seniority in the role.

  • Proactively run or take part in processes for the enhancement or development of our solutions
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand business needs
  • Structure and handle data for a continuous and sustainable process, along with insightful visualisations towards various levels of stakeholders
  • Run an efficient monthly process freely for selected solutions (we split the fixed tasks roughly equally in the team), ensuring solutions are updated with the latest data while applying a Kaizen (continuous improvement) approach, always trying to improve or highlight bugs and issues
  • Learn new skills and methodologies which you might not be familiar with, specifically TBM and our running data tools (Apptio, Alteryx, MS SQL, Tableau)

  • Solid analytical skills with a structured and big-picture mindset
  • Advanced level skills in Excel mastering, pivots, lookups, SQL connections etc.
  • Advanced data processing, e.g. Alteryx, Tableau prep, Excel VBA
  • Structured data handling, e.g. MS SQL, MS Access, large Excel data files
  • Data visualisation, e.g. Tableau, QlikView, PowerBI or similar
  • A ‘can-do‘ attitude with a proactive approach to learning and adapt new skills
  • Ability to work and plan with colleagues while executing tasks alone
  • Upper-Intermediate English skills
