Engineering Manager for Application Observability Team
Area
We are looking for a motivated technical Engineering Manager to lead Application Observability team who has end to end responsibility of multiple toolsets (f.e. OpenTelemetry instrumentation, OTEL Collectors, Logstash, Grafana, etc.) and is responsible to ensure that we provide fit for use and fit for purpose Observability Services to critical Applications in Danske Bank. Application Observability team is one of 4 teams in SRO department which are working together towards shared vision to enhance digital services quality and user productivity.
In the Service Reliability and Observability (SRO) department, we develop and provide modern observability services and standardized practices to ensure IT systems are efficient and reliable, saving time for infrastructure and software engineers.
You are a good addition if you enjoy working with people, are eager to maintain your technical skills and have can-do and co-creation mindset when seeking for solutions on complex challenges.
You will have a chance to learn depth and breadth of different technological stacks ranging from infrastructure (Virtual Machines, Containerization, Networks, Databases, etc.), application runtime and modern Observability stack while making significant impact on critical IT system reliability improvements.

Mission
- Act as HR manager and technical lead for your team members, being accountable for their growth – both on a professional and personal level
- Run, build and evolve toolsets within Observability Services domain
- Cooperate with Product Owners, SREs, Developers and critical stakeholders to ensure Observability toolsets create expected value
- Drive strategic initiatives to deliver upon Danske Bank wide goals (f.e. Migration to AWS)
Skills
- At least 5 years of experience working as a Software, Infrastructure Engineer or within SRE domain
- Track record of growing and inspiring people (or strong motivation to grow your competence in people field and move on from a technical to a leadership role)
- Experience managing systems in automated way on Private and/or Public Cloud infrastructure
- Experience owning Observability and Monitoring tools (f.e. Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, OpenTelemetry, Tracing , APM)
- Experience with server-side technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift, etc
- .NET and/or Java application monitoring experience would be considered highly advantageous
- Solid proven analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- High sense of ownership and can-do approach
- Upper-intermediate skills in written and spoken English

We will ensure that exact salary offered for you will be based on your qualifications, competencies, professional experience and requirements for the corresponding job function (salary range from 5200 EUR to 7800 EUR gross EUR/monthly).
Your title in job contract will be Leader of Team.
