The Debt Management Area is a high priority area of Danske Bank with great attention from senior leadership on our deliveries. This job offers exciting opportunities – become a part of our new mainframe chapter and work as a specialist in a cross-functional squad, all within an agile environment.

As a mainframe specialist, you’ll help manage and improve our solutions based on the durable mainframe technology, which is marking its 60th year with no retirement in sight. You’ll ensure our solutions become and remain compliant with the many new requirements we are facing. Also, as we create and integrate a new Debt Collection Solution, you might help connect it with the mainframe.
Mission
- Own complex mainframe applications with multiple interfaces to both internal and external systems/applications, managing their development, design, coding, and debugging for optimal operation
- Maintain and improve existing mainframe applications, ensuring their efficiency, reliability, and adherence to Regulatory Compliance
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise in the mainframe environment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback and guidance to improve team coding practices, while also creating and maintaining technical
- Work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Engage in all stages of the product life cycle in a highly prioritized domain
- Contribute to the bank’s initiatives under the ‘Turn To New Tech’ strategy, playing an important part in our digital transformation journey
Skills
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in IT or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with IBM Mainframe applications
- Hands-on experience in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and OPC
- MQ, CICS and PL/I experience would be considered as a bonus
- “Can-do” attitude, attention to details
- Focus on quality, passion to do things right
- Ability to work both in team and individually
- Advanced English language skills

We will ensure that exact salary offered for you will be based on your qualifications, competencies, professional experience and requirements for the corresponding job function (salary range from 3360 EUR to 5040 EUR gross EUR/monthly).
Your title in job contract will be IT Software Engineer (Mainframe Specialist).
