Adform’s legal team currently of six members (including you) is based in three locations, Vilnius (four members), Hamburg, and Copenhagen. We work closely with Adformers in more than 24 other locations globally where we support around 700 colleagues.
The offered role of a Legal Counsel is to be based in Vilnius (Lithuania) which is our largest office in the Adform group, where you will be working in the same building as approximately 370 passionate Adformers.

As Legal Counsel, under the guidance and direction of Team Manager, Senior Legal Counsel (Corporate & Commercial) (based in Vilnius), you will support the commercial and corporate needs of the business, having primary responsibility for providing input to RFI/RFP’s, and drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with advertisers, media agencies, partners and publishers in the adtech industry.

It is important for us that you have an interest in GDPR and privacy-related matters, as Adform’s business faces them on a daily basis. Our Privacy Compliance team handles the majority of these tasks, however, as a commercial lawyer you should have an overall knowledge of this topic as well, including the ability to discuss these matters in an educated fashion with clients and partners.
The candidate must have excellent business judgment and strategic thinking and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team environment. Adform’s business spans the globe and requires an experienced, dynamic, and team-oriented attorney.

Your responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts – primarily agreements related to Adform’s product offerings and Adform’s integrated advertising platform, and related data processing agreements/data transfer agreements
• Ensuring that Adform’s contractual setup complies with local law, and is implemented in ways that support Adform’s ambition for growth and scalability
• Assisting Adform’s Privacy Compliance Team when necessary in various GDPR and privacy-related matters, primarily focused on Adform’s product and policies
• Driving various projects independently - from start to end - liaising and collaboration with various stakeholders across Adform
• Training our sales and partner teams on Adform’s policies and contractual setup
• Managing contract templates, guidelines, and libraries
• Driving Adform towards smarter ways of working
• Supporting Sales, Business Development and Development teams in RFI and RFP processes, both in respect of Adform’s product offerings, privacy, corporate policy, and security-related matters.

We expect

• At least 3-years’ experience with relevant law firm and/or in-house experience (preferably in an international company), with extensive experience reviewing and negotiating commercial and legal aspects of English-language contracts
• Strong English communication and drafting skills
• A customer-focused approach to negotiation and drafting of contracts
• Willingness to participate in and take an active role in various cross-company efforts to drive scalability and growth
• Proven track record to recognize legal and ethical risks that can impact business delivery, growth, and reputation
• “Translate” legal language and communicate it to the business and our customers in a way that is relevant and easy to understand
• Solid business acumen and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure are required
• A strong command of details, but with a broad strategic awareness
• Effective communicator with project management skills

It would be an advantage if you

• Additional language skills beyond English will be considered an asset (especially German or any Scandinavian languages)
• Experience with the IT industry and Data Protection will be considered an asset
