Senior Backend Engineer - Help Experience

As Senior Backend Engineer, Help Experience, you will design, build, and improve backend systems that help Vinted support agents resolve member issues quickly and accurately.

You will join the Help Experience team, which builds the internal tools used by support agents. In this role, you will help improve Vinted’s ticketing platform, streamline workflows, and support automation that makes problem resolution faster and more reliable.

You will work closely with engineers and cross-functional partners, taking ownership of solutions from design to deployment and monitoring.

• Work in a cross-functional team to design and build backend features that help agents provide support quickly and effectively.
• Improve and rearchitect key parts of Vinted’s internal ticketing platform.
• Build scalable and reliable systems that support high volumes of messages and support tickets every day.
• Contribute to automation and AI-powered solutions that reduce repetitive work and improve ticket routing and resolution.
• Take ownership of features end to end: problem discovery, solution design, implementation, deployment, and follow-up.
• Collaborate closely with other engineers through pairing, design discussions, and code reviews.
• Work with technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Vitess, Redis, Kafka, Vespa, Grafana, Datadog, Kibana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Make improvements that positively impact member satisfaction, resolution quality, and problem-handling time.

• You have strong software engineering fundamentals and proven experience building backend systems in high-level programming languages.
• You have solid experience designing, building, and maintaining production software.
• You are willing to learn Ruby on Rails; prior experience with Ruby on Rails is a plus.
• You take initiative and are comfortable driving improvements even when the path is not fully defined.
• You collaborate well with others and enjoy sharing knowledge.
• You care about building reliable, maintainable, and scalable systems.
• You communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
