Senior Backend Engineer II, Resilience

As Vinted’s new Senior Backend Engineer II, you’ll be joining the Platform Resilience team (Service Ecosystem domain). The purpose of our team is ensuring stable and resilient growth of the Vinted Marketplace services ecosystem. The team consists exclusively of experienced backend engineers, ensuring you always have someone to discuss your ideas with.

Here are some of the technologies we use: Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, Golang, MySQL, Vitess, Redis, Kafka, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Elastic APM, Datadog, Backstage, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Unix/Linux, Istio, ArgoCD.

• Develop platform capabilities that help all Marketplace engineers build scalable systems.
• Investigate and improve overall system stability and performance.
• Consult other engineers on how to build robust systems with high availability.
• Craft code that affects more than 80M+ users and handles 10M+ requests per minute.
• Participate in on-call rotation every 5-6 weeks.

• Experience building and supporting large-scale applications.
• Good understanding of how infrastructure and code work together.
• A strong communicator, skilled in discussing complex topics and collaborating across cultures in spoken and written English.
• Analytical and acute problem-solving skills.
• Eager to learn and master new technologies and concepts.
• Familiar with most and have deep knowledge in some of the following disciplines (depending on your seniority level): Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Structures and Algorithms.
• You are motivated by challenging, complex engineering problems requiring deep technological understanding, perseverance, collaboration with other developers, and solutions beyond regular product development.
