Electrical design enegineer

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-performance building services projects across various sectors. You will lead electrical design from concept through to completion, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality and innovative engineering solutions. This is a leadership-focused, hands-on role suited for a proactive and detail-oriented professional.

Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design across projects from concept to construction and handover.
• Ensure high-quality, compliant, and innovative electrical engineering solutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure timely project delivery.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors on electrical matters.
• Prepare technical specifications, reports, and tender documentation.
• Perform and oversee electrical design calculations and system coordination.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Define project scope in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates.
• Participate in design reviews, site visits, and technical workshops.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Electrical Building Services design (lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, security, emergency systems).
• Solid understanding of relevant standards (IEC, BS, EN or similar).
• Familiarity with engineering best practices and codes (e.g., CIBSE, IET).
• Proficiency in tools such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, Bluebeam, MS Office.
• Ability to perform electrical load calculations and system design coordination.
• Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions is an advantage.

Experience & Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering within building services.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) is an advantage.
• Proven experience leading projects and coordinating engineering teams.
• Experience across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, life sciences, or data centres is an advantage.
