Job Description

We are currently looking for a Health and Safety Specialist, who will be responsible for ensuring that activities across Ignitis Renewables sites are conducted safely and in compliance with health and safety legislation and standards. The role focuses on effective risk management and control across daily operations and projects, maintaining preventive measures to strengthen operational safety, and a proactive safety culture promotion across teams and contractors.

You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:

  • Ensuring compliance with local and international Health and Safety regulations, ISO 45001:2018 standard, and industry best practices
  • Conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and internal audits
  • Investigating incidents and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Delivering Health and Safety training, organizing emergency drills, and promoting a strong safety culture across the company
  • Developing and putting into practice Health and Safety policies and safe work procedures that support Operations and Maintenance teams
  • Supporting the lifecycle of Health and Safety policies, standards, and procedures to ensure organizational compliance and operational excellence
  • Overseeing contractor compliance and safe work execution
  • Serving as a liaison between safety teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities
  • Implementing best-in-class Health and Safety and quality control processes, managing lessons learned, and reporting on asset performance, risks, and mitigation plans.

Qualifications

  • Higher education in Health and Safety or another relevant field. Valid Health and Safety Specialist certification in accordance with national requirements
  • At least 3 years of similar work experience as Health and Safety Specialist in construction or industrial environments (renewable energy is a plus)
  • Experience with contractor safety management, risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused mindset
  • Ability to promote safe work practices and collaborate effectively under tight timelines
  • Willingness to travel and visit sites
  • Certifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent would be a strong advantage (training can be provided if needed).
