Job description:
- Build a modern cloud-based data platform from the ground up.
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines and orchestration processes.
- Take ownership of existing vendor-managed data flows and gradually migrate them in-house.
- Design data architecture, engineering standards, and best practices.
- Build reliable and maintainable cloud infrastructure supporting analytics and AI initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Product teams, and future Data colleagues.
- Drive technical decisions and contribute to the long-term Data Engineering roadmap.
Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience in Data Engineering.
- Excellent Python and SQL skills.
- Experience designing and maintaining modern data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Mage, or similar.
- Experience working with Git and CI/CD practices.
- Understanding of modern Data Engineering architecture principles.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a greenfield environment.
Nice to have:
- Experience building data platforms from scratch.
- Terraform or Infrastructure as Code experience.
- Experience with Docker containers.
- AI / ML or LLM exposure.
- Experience in fintech, banking, or another regulated industry.
