Job description:
Bird is a unified AI-native customer lifecycle platform, helping enterprise brands acquire, convert, and retain customers across every channel - from email and SMS to WhatsApp and beyond. The platform combines real-time customer data, orchestration, and personalization at enterprise scale.
This is a builder role for those who want ownership, impact, and speed. Engineers here build foundational systems that power billions of real-time signals, enable large-scale identity graphs, and orchestrate multi-channel marketing for global brands.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and shipping end-to-end product slices impacting activation, retention, and revenue.
- Building and maintaining APIs, backend services, and frontend UIs that are simple, reliable, and observable.
- Modelling data, managing queues and caches, and making pragmatic trade-offs for scale, cost, and performance.
- Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers - communicating clearly in writing.
- Using AI daily to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and analysis - while applying strong engineering judgment.
- Measuring outcomes with metrics and iterating fast based on evidence.
Requirements:
- Strong frontend skills (React + TypeScript) and experience in at least one backend runtime (Node, Go, or JVM).
- Practical experience with APIs, SQL/data modelling, queues/catching, CI/CD, automated tests, and observability.
- Experience using AI coding tools (e.g. Cursor, Copilot, JetBrains AI) to improve speed and code quality.
- Hands-on attitude, curiosity, and drive for quality and simplicity.
- Fluent English communication skills.
Company offers:
- Work on a global, high-impact product solving complex engineering problems on a scale.
- Collaborate with top-tier peers across Europe and the US time zones.
- Be part of a culture built around autonomy, speed, and clarity - no unnecessary complexity.
- Equity options and bonuses for top performers.
- Private health insurance.
- Learning budget & modern equipment.
