Task information:

• Compile product requirements for new SW/FPGA/HW solutions together with Product Management and customers/partners;

-Owner of product level requirement specification

• Create and document system architecture together with the R&D team;

-Owner of product level architecture and solution specification

• Guide implementation of product architecture into working solutions together with the R&D team;

-Supervise architecture is implemented as agreed

-Facilitate discovery and resolution of technical issues/bottlenecks at product level

-Define and own product level functional and performance metrics

• Analyze and design new features and functionality together with the R&D team ;
• Participate in continuous improvement of product architecture processes and tools to maximize productivity and quality;
• Participate in product development from idea to final release ;
• Keep up to date with new technology and trends, within the networking domain;

Requirements:

• 5 years experience from datacom or telecom industry;
• Educational background as software engineer (M.Sc.E.E) or similar;
• Technical skilled in creation of product architecture or system design for software/hardware based networking products;
• Strong communicator - verbal, written and presentation;
• Transformation of complex conceptual ideas (e.g. loosely specified customer use cases) into feasible system designs;
• Network protocols, e.g. HTTP, TCP, IP, Ethernet;
• Interaction with customers and external partners at technical level e.g. mapping out customer use cases at technical level and presenting technical solutions for the customer;
• Driver and/or embedded SW development in Linux or Windows;
• Software architecture at OS-kernel/user-level for effective/high performance server based solutions;
• Intel x86 server platform at system/component level, e.g. interaction between processor, NIC, memory, PCI Express bus, BIOS, OS and software applications;
• Insight into network virtualization technology at softwarecomponent level, e.g. vSwitch/OVS, Kubernetes, QEMU/KVM, SR-IOV, IOMMU;
• FPGA/ASIC IP development;
• Insight into Datacenter/Cloud network infrastructure incl. management and deployment tools;
• Software development in open source communities, e.g. Linux, DPDK, OVS, Openstack;
• Agile product development tools and methodology;
• Excellent English language skills.
